Do I need prior horse riding experience to join one of your tours?
No, prior horse riding experience is not required. Before we set off, participants receive basic riding instructions, and we’ll answer any questions you might have. All tours are accompanied by two experienced guides—one leading the group and the other following at the rear. The ride is conducted at a walking pace, with the horses moving in a single-file line.
What is the minimum age for children to participate?
Since each rider rides independently without a lead rope, participation is recommended for children over 6 years old. For families with young children, the 60-minute ride is the ideal choice. For children under this age, please feel free to contact us.
Are photos, videos, and mobile phone use allowed during the ride?
For safety reasons, using mobile phones while riding is not recommended. If a rider chooses to use their phone, they do so at their own risk and bear sole responsibility for their personal safety.
How do I make a booking?
Bookings can be made directly through our website or by phone. To finalize and confirm your booking, a deposit is required.
Are there weight and height limits for riders?
Yes, there are weight and height limits for riders, keeping the well-being of our horses and your safety in mind. Please provide us with your measurements before booking so we can match you with the most suitable horse.
Will I be safe during the ride?
Our business strictly adheres to all necessary accident prevention guidelines. Wearing a protective helmet and maintaining the required distance between horses is mandatory throughout the tour. Our guides are highly experienced and trained in First Aid, and compliance with their instructions is essential for everyone’s safety.
What if I need to cancel?
Cancellations are accepted up to 24 hours before the scheduled start of the ride, with a full refund of your deposit. In the event of a cancellation made less than 24 hours prior, we retain 50% of the total booking amount.
What happens to my booking if the weather is bad?
If the weather isn’t suitable, we will get in touch with you to reschedule the ride for another day and/or time.
What days and times do the rides take place?
From April until the end of October, we are open daily by appointment only. Our ride schedule varies depending on the season and sunset times. Please check the available times when making your booking.
What is the maximum group size for a ride?
Our rides take place in small groups of up to 6 people. This allows us to ensure personal service and the safety of all participants. For larger groups, please contact us so we can arrange your ride in consecutive sessions.
I have horse riding experience and I want to gallop, is that possible?
Our goal is to introduce you to and help you appreciate the Cretan nature. We cater to riders with or without previous experience, which is why all our tours are conducted exclusively at a walking pace. Additionally, due to the terrain, galloping or cantering is not permitted for the safety of both our participants and our horses.
Can I rent a horse and go out on my own?
Independent horse rental is not available. To ensure rider safety and the smooth running of the tour, all rides are conducted exclusively under the supervision of two of our experienced guides.
